Mr. Ernest M. Tyree, Age 80 of Grant, TN., died Thursday morning, April 29, 2010.Mr. Tyree was born September 2, 1929 in Washington County, TN., the son of the late Mary Bell Rhea and James Andrew Tyree. Two Sisters and a Brother preceded him in death. He was married to Dorothy Ann Matlock and their son, Stephen Eugene Tyree preceded him in death in 1965. Mr. Tyree served in the United States Army for 20 years from 1949 to March, 1969 and was a Veteran of both the Korean War and the Vietnam Conflict. After service, he was associated with electronics sales. He and his wife moved to Smith Co., TN in 2000. He was a member of New Middleton Masonic Lodge No. 249, F. & A.M.; the New Middleton Baptist Church and was a volunteer at Joseph’s Storehouse in Lebanon.Mr. Tyree is survived by his wife, Dorothy Tyree of Grant, TN. Three Children: Donna Lee Ballast and her husband, Bob Jensen of Austin, Texas; Angel Denise Stone and her husband, Jim of Dripping Springs, Texas and Bennie Andrew Tyree and his wife, Jayne of Grant, TN. Four Grandchildren: Katrina, Lauren, Hannah and Jane Elizabeth. Two Great Grandchildren: Peyton and Ethan.Funeral Services for Mr. Tyree will be held at the Gordonsville Chapel of Bass Funeral Homes on Sunday, May 2, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. with Bro. Chris Blair, officiating.Graveside Service with Military Honors and Interment will be at 11:00 A.M., Monday, May 3, 2010 at the Nashville National Cemetery, Gallatin Road, Nashville, TN.The Tyree family will receive friends at the Gordonsville Chapel on Saturday from 2:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. and on Sunday from 12:00 Noon until service time at 2:00 P.M.A Masonic service will be held at the Funeral Home on Saturday night at 7:00 P.M. conducted by New Middleton Masonic Lodge No. 249, F. & A.M.
