Roy Tripp

March 29, 1930 - June 24, 2009

Mr. Roy Lemuel Tripp, Age 79 to the Walker’s Creek Community of DeKalb County, TN., died Wednesday, June 24, 2009 at Veterans Administration Medical Center, Nashville, TN. Mr. Tripp was born March 29, 1930 in Rumford, Maine the son of the late Ester Goodwin and Minnard Tripp. A brother, Irwin Tripp preceded him in death. He was a Veteran of the Korean War serving in the United States Army from October 9, 1951 to June 8, 1956 with the rank of Staff Sargeant. He had lived in the Smith County, TN area for several years and worked as a carpenter with T. D. Smith, then at Welsh Manufacturing Company and was now employed by the Smith County Education System as a custodian at the Gordonsville High School. He was married on February 14, 1992 to Mary Katherine James. Mr. Tripp is survived by his wife Mary James Tripp of Alexandria, TN. Daughter, Barbara (Doug) Noone of Pennsylvania; Sons: Michael (Kelly) Tripp of Livingston, TN and Thomas (Sherry) Tripp of Pennsylvania. Step-Daughter, Debbie (Randy) Eaton of Alexandria, TN. Step-Son, Timmy Cline of Alexandria, TN. Grandchildren: Riannan Tripp, Dylan Tripp, Raven Tripp, Riley Tripp, Mark Richards and Damian Richards. Step Grandchildren: Jerimey Howard, Randy Eaton, Shanna Cline, Tasha Cline, Trampus Lawson and Brittany Tripp. Great Grandchildren: Alissa Thaxton, Khloe Cline, Kaia Howard and Dorian Lawson. Sister, Ellen (Wendel) Palmer of Maine. Family and Friends will gather at the Gordonsville Cemetery, Gordonsville, TN on Saturday, June 27, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. for Graveside services with Bro. Shane Smith, officiating and Interment with Military Honors.The Tripp family will receive friends at the Gordonsville Chapel of Bass Funeral Homes on Friday from 1:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.
