Thelma Sevier

Mrs. Thelma Louise Lynch Sevier, Age 70 of Gordonsville, TN., died Wednesday, February 18, 2009 at Riverview Regional Medical Center, Carthage, TN. Mrs. Sevier was born May 9, 1938 in Smith County, TN., the daughter of the late Ruth Mai Hindsley and Aaron Lynch. She was preceded in death by her siblings: Hubert Lynch, Cecil Lynch, David Watts, Barbara Nannie and her step father, Fed Watts. She was married on March 9, 1954 to Darnell Sevier. Their son, Steve Randall Sevier preceded her in death on January 1, 2005. She was a homemaker and was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church, New Middleton, TN for 54 years and was a Sunday School teacher for over 35 years. Mrs. Sevier is survived by her husband, Darnell Sevier of Gordonsville, TN. Three Daughters: Janice Ballard and husband, Michael of Gordonsville, TN.; Patricia Massey and husband, Steve of Elmwood, TN. and Melissa Gregory and husband, Gary of Lebanon, TN. Three Sons: Eric Sevier and wife, Peggy of Gordonsville, TN., Ferlin Sevier of Gordonsville, TN. Sammy Sevier of Cookeville, TN. Twelve Grandchildren: Shannon and Shawna Gregory, Felicia (Kevin) Watts, Matt Ballard, Miranda (David) Martin, Randy Sevier, Zac Sevier, Jeremy, Ashley and Amber Sevier, Kristina (Vince) Randolph and Lola Sevier. Four Great Grandchildren: Colton Gregory, Jaylyn Martin, Kaytlee and Kyler Randolph. Sister, Edwina (Leon) Boyd of Buffalo Valley, TN. Sister-in-Law, Mary Lynch of Lebanon, TN. Mrs. Sevier’s remains are at the Gordonsville Chapel of Bass Funeral Homes where Services will be held on Friday, February 20, 2009 at 1:00 P.M. with Bro. Pete Tilbe and Bro. Charlie Pollard, officiating. Interment will follow in Gordonsville Cemetery.The Sevier family will receive friends at the Gordonsville Chapel on Thursday from 12:00 Noon to 8:00 P.M. and on Friday from 10:00 A.M. until service time at 1:00 P.M.Memorials may be made to the Macedonia Baptist Church.
